Bead
Tip - used for holding
and concealing end knots, and for attaching a clasp to the end
of the strung piece. There are two common types of bead tips
- basket bead tips which look like a tiny basket with a handle
across the top, and clamshell bead tips which look like a clamshell
with a hook at one end. The clamshell bead tip closes over the
knot to completely hide it.

Crimp Covers
- Used to cover crimp
beads. Creates a safer and more finished look at the ends of
a strung project that uses flexible beading wire and crimp beads. |
| Fold
Over Crimp - a metal
finding with a loop at one end that folds over a tubular or ribbon
shaped stringing material. To attach this finding the sides of
the crimp are folded with pliers to clamp onto the stringing
material. A variety of clasps may then be attached to the loop
end of the fold over crimp. |
Coil
Crimp - a coil of metal
with a loop at one end that fits over a tubular stringing material.
To attach this finding the last turn of the coil is bent with
pliers so as to clamp into the stringing material. A variety
of clasps may then be attached to the loop end of the coil crimp. |
Ribbon
Crimp - A jaw-shaped
finding that clamps down on ribbon and has a loop to attach a
clasp. A drop of glue may be used for extra security. |
